Solved Classic Shell gets lost with reboot

I find that I am using the Classic Shell less, but still want to have the format available. My problem is that every time I reboot my computer, I have to reset the Classic Shell settings. Is there a way to fix this?

The most common cause is if you upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. This breaks Classic Shell. You need to run the installer again and click on Repair.

I'll try that, but it's not the only thing that I have to fix every time I restart. My MSN homepage reverts to an older view ( and changes my weather station home) Also, I keep changing the setting that requires me to sign in with a password every time I reboot, but it changes back every time.

This sounds like a problem with your user profile. If it is corrupted, Windows may try to create a fresh profile every time your log in, and it will reset all your settings.

So, how do I check that?
