HP's "Quickstart" acts as a "Start Menu"

I just saw this on a new HP laptop I am working on, it actually makes a kind of Program Menu, so if you don't want a full Start Menu like Windows 7, you can use this to just have links to your Programs:

The HP Quick Start Application (Windows 8) | HP® Support

Installation Causes a reboot so unless you are ready to reboot, don't install it.

It takes a few minutes to populate the Program Links trhe first time it is run, after that it pops up quick and it can be added to Startup Programs.

    Looks good.

Yep. It is designed to be a start menu, I've seen it in action. They've made it to add missing start menu functionality back to W8. This is a strategy by HP to accommodate more 'classic' users with the new OS. I think other manufacturers may use similar programs.

Maybe I can change the colours. I like the dark blue though.

I guess they made this prog to replace the HP Launch box they had for Windows 7. that would only allow you to put a few programs into it.
