How do I take proper screen shots of a pdf file in W8?

I have to copy several pages from a pdf document for a job I'm doing. I have figured out how to take screen shots in adobe but when I copy each single page in to word, it is tiny. I can enlarge them in word but when I do, the writing on them is no longer legible. I also get the black background to the page which I seemingly have to cut out using a snipping too. The snipping tool problem is annoying but the other issue may prevent me from being able to do the work for the client so it's a bigger problem. Can anyone help?

Would an image like this do it for you? And would it help if you could generate an image for all pages in the same document with one click? I need to know before I spend the time to show you how. This is a full page screenshot a pdf page:

Thanks for your reply - I'm not 100% sure!

Thanks so much for your reply. Truth be told, I'm not 100% certain. I need to copy and paste the images into word to work in, so so long as I can do that and the pages look the same in word as they do in the pdf, that would be fine. The screen shots I paste in have to be full pages and the same way up as in pdf. Does this answer your question or not?!

Well, right click the image I just uploaded. Download it. Then open word and past it in! Here are my results using openoffice.org:

It still appears as small when I insert it into word. I can increase the size and still read it though which is good. But that doesn't work with the pdf files. When I increase the size I don't get the same quality of image.

Ok, my mistake because that image has been resized by the forum. The actual image size is 3300x2550 which is huge so it should paste perfectly into Word. Here's how:

    Download PDF-XChange Viewer (free)

Tracker Software Products :: PDF-XChange Products Comparison Chart - Compare PDF software solutions.

Now, use it to open any PDF document and select a full page for export to an image format:

Once done, you will have options available to select all pages or current and you will also have options to select the export image format as well.

NOW, take that exported image and paste it into Word and I'll betcha you'll be "one happy camper."

Let us know and I hope this will make it much easier for you to complete your project!

    Hi again,

Between your emails I managed to download adobe reader (no idea what version is on windows 8) - this is what I'm used to I think from before and I can copy and paste more easily. I have a deadline so I don't have time to try out that software you linked to but once this job is completed I'll have a look because I really need to be up to speed with all aspects of windows 8. I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly though - thank you very much!

OK, I tried.... but I can tel you that you are missing a great opprotunity to not only save time but greatly improve the quality of the finished product. If you only had 10 minutes to spare...

Good luck and I hope I have given you a future alternative to consider.

    Hi there
The easiest way when you can't use the snipping tool is to PRT-SCR then CTRL_V the image into either WORD if you have it or Wordpad if you don't -- adjust the image size and then capture THAT image with the snipping tool.

Here's an example using Wordpad and the snipping tool -- 1) PRT SCREEN to get your screen dump, 2 start Wordpad (standard supplied with Windows), 3) CTRL_V the image into wordpad -- re-size and use snipping tool to get the bit you want.

    Cheers
