Deleting Metro Apps - A one way trip?

I'm getting prepared to update to 8.1, and one of the steps I plan to minimize the negative impact of the Metro interface is to delete all the Metro Apps. If I have a change of heart down the road is there a way to backtrack? I plan to leave the Store, just in case MS forces me to use it again to update.

Hi Ron,

You can find all the Metro Apps in the store. So, yes you can delete/uninstall them if you like.

Perhaps in your situation it is also a sollution to simply remove them from Start only? And with the setting that you boot to the desktop?

Thanks for the response. Removing them from the Start screen would be an acceptable solution to me. Is it just like removing icons from the Desktop where you can right click on them and get an option to just remove the icon but not the application? I have to admit that I do not spend any more time on that screen than I have to.

Just tried it, and I see it gives me a choice to unpin it. It is the Apps screen that I'm really concerned about, and not really the Start. With a little luck I will be able to totally avoid the Start screen after I upgrade to 8.1, and just use the Apps and Desktop. I take it if I unpin it from the Start and Apps screen the application is still buried in the bowels of Windows somewhere, and if I really wanted, I could restore it again? Would I just use the Search and hopefully remember what the App was called?
