Hello

In Windows XP and Windows 7 i used to use Nero 6 and nero 7 which no longer works properly on win 7 Sp1 but nero start smart works but i wonder if i can use it in win 8 64 bit or win 8.1

See sometimes i need Nero Start Smart as it allow
1- Copy CD or DVD
2- Make Home DVD with Menu
3- Burn Song to CD
4- Clone a CD or DVD
5- Make ISO
6- Burn VIDEO_TS AND AUDIO_TS FILES TO A DVD that is playbale by every dvd player in world

Now i miss that feature and in need of recommended software that works on 8 and 8.1 to burn back VIDEO_TS AND AUDIO_TS files as a normal DVD 4.7GB size

The problem is:

Nero 9 and up are huge and i dont want all the extra 5 GB software i just need nero smart start or something like it few simple choices and works and easy to use on a laptop

Can someone advise please :)

Thanks in advance

I use AVS video converter , it converts all sorts of files to DVD video format files and will write them to DVD also , there is/was a free trial available.

Hi there
These days so many machines do not have physical DVD players - also movies etc are often played on other devices such as smart phones / tablets which also don't have DVD players.

I'd suggest you get one of the many FREE DVD rippers out there and create things like .MP4 / .MKV -- these can be of very high quality too -- even on a 50 inch screen they look as good as the original Blue Ray too --- use a program like AnyDVD to do the ripping for "de-regionalising" / decrypting.

Windows 8 does actually mount Virtual ISO's so you really don't need to burn a physical DVD any more either - if you still want the iso then AnyDVD will create an iso copy of a DVD or you can use things like Clone DVD.

Cheers

Ashampoo Burning Studio would do the trik, I use it all the time, the free version does that too.
