Strange arrow icon in W8.1 tiles

For some reason now pretty much all my tiles have this down arrow at the right bottom.
What did I do wrong and how can I remove them?

Try clicking on the ones with the arrows. The arrow means that the application needs to be downloaded again, they are probably core apps that were updated with 8.1 but actually still need to be downloaded.

That means either there is an Update available or it is downloading updates. I don't think that arrow can be clicked on.

    Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.
Actually, to see the status of those, you have to go into the Store and see what is happening in the Upper Right Corner, there will be number, if you click on it, it will show you which apps are updating or which ones need updating.

It says there are no updates available. How chan I check if its downoading?

Also, none of the live tiles (except Photo) are working.

Hi there, I was just going t post exactly the same question. I have the same little arrow on the bottom right of the tile. if I click on the tile it opens and runs the program ok, have checked in windows update and the store no updates are shown as available.
My other 5 pc's and lap tops don't have these little arrows, this was about the 3rd pc to be updated to Win8.1

Seems like a lot of people are experiencing this bug/problem: Windows 8.1 Tiles Does not Update and shows Arrow-Down Signs - Microsoft Community
