    How to disable the charm bar

    A lot of the times I swipe from right to left and the charms bar pops up, when this happens I usually accidentally select something from the bar, then I get angry have to click desktop every time.

    I google searched it and I found nothing useful. I already tried turning it off through classic shell, edited registrar keys, but neither of them work.

    Am I the onyl one who sees this as a bad flaw design?

    Hello Naruto,

    The tutorials below should be able to help with that.

    Good morning folks:
    Does anyone know of a registry tweak that will disable the TOP RIGHT Corner only? Recently I had 'StartIsBack' and the top right corner, (Charms Reveal, not Hint!) was disabled and the icons on the Charms Bar were lowered to the bottom. Just wondered what script the developer may have used for that.

    Hello Edwin,

    Step 3 in OPTION ONE of the tutorial below is a .reg file to only disable the top right corner Charms hint. That's most likely the same registry settings they used.

    Code:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell\EdgeUI]

    "DisableTRCorner"=dword:00000001

    "DisableCharmsHint"=-

    Thank you for the reply Mr. Brink.
    I tried that 'DisableTRCorner' but it didn't work; course I'm back to W8 now so, I don't know! However, the gentleman who published the software in the following clip, (StartIsBack), got it! Just wondered how is all.
    Thanks again, Cheers!

    What do you have in your registry in the EdgeUI key below? One of the values in it would most like be it, so go ahead and post a screenshot, and I'll see if I may be able to spot the culprit.

    Don't know if 'corner' had to be a capital C, but the TL worked the way it is!?

    LOL, well after testing, when you disable the Charms hint TR corner it also disables the drag down to open Charms from that corner since the hint never opens to be able to drag down to open.

    You'll need to enable it to be able to open Charms from the TR corner.
