Just thought I would mention this.

I uninstalled all the Microsoft Apps.

I freed-up 4.5 GBs by doing so.

I never used them anyway.

I ran sfc /scannow & DISM afterwards & sfc again after rebooting.

No issues.

That's all. :)

What method did you use to uninstall the apps?

If you mean the default apps that come included in Windows 8, then you'll find that when you use the usual uninstall apps method they don't actually get uninstalled from Windows, but only actually get turned off for the account that they were uninstalled from instead.

This is because all account on the PC come with these default apps available from the same source below.

The default Store apps that come included with Windows 8/8.1 are store in the hidden C:\Program Files\WindowsApps folder that you would have to take ownership of and set permissions to "Allow" your account "Full control" of first before it will let you open the folder.

I opened Start in charms bar & clicked on All Apps.

I uninstalled them all.

I went to C:\Program Files\Windows Apps.

They were all still there.

I started deleting them in bunches, because I had check boxes enabled for choosing multiple things at once.

I deleted them all but they did not go away.

I clicked on folders & they were all empty folders.

I then started deleting the empty folders until the Windows Apps folder was empty.

It was tedious, but I got it done.

No Administrator popups denying access to anything.

If I'm leaving something out, let me know. :)
