Hi there
Adobe reader XI seem to have problems installing in Windows 8.1

To get round - choose Windows 7 <====== in the OS and select adobe reader X. This works fine. Yes select Windows 7 as the OS !!!

Note this is for WINDOWS 8.1 RTM.

I suspect the adobe reader XI problem might also be something to do with the enhanced security features in IE11 - can't be bothered to even begin to attempt to debug this as version X is fine for what I need.

Cheers

What was the install problem? I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro a few days ago and the Adobe reader XI installed without any problems. I just opened a couple of files and it is working fine.

Hi there
might be OK now - but I'll just wait until upgrade fixes it.

My motor with relatively new releases of windows is the old one "If it ain't broke don't fix it". - I only tend to use for "officy" docs anyway - I don't need all the latest bells and whistles -- PDF is not a good format for a lot of things - it's HORRIBLE on e-readers and these days things like HTML are much better for viewing on all sorts of devices, as are power point docs and word stuff.

Adobe docs have definitely passed their "Sell by date" as a format now --maybe still a little value in PDF as forms for user input or for scanned docs.

Cheers

Try Foxit PDF reader. Mucho better than Adobe...
