Hi there
The install fails on Windows 8.1 -- BUT you can install the previous version (Version 10) - just select WINDOWS 7 as the OS from the adobe install screen (yes Windows 7 not Windows 8) and select Version 10 in the reader (select previous versions). If you select Windows 8 you don't get the choice to install the previous version and the install fails.
Version 10 works just fine on Windows 8.1 - I don't like the Ms supplied Metro PDF reader -and I've used adobe reader for so long there's no reason why I shouldn't continue to use it.
Cheers
