Solved Windows Store App Crash

After updating to Win 8.1 RTM the Store App doesn't work anymore. Everything else runs fine. After opening the Store App it takes only one or two seconds and the screen get's back to where it was before. The app is still opened, but does the same as soon as it's activated again.
Anyone has the same issues? Is there a way to reinstall the Store App?
Thanks.

Hello Joe,

You might also go through the same troubleshooting steps in the tutorial above to see if they may be able to help. :)

Yes, i forgot to mention, that none of the steps in the troubleshooter applies for this problem. I have tried every relevant one except to refresh Windows 8, but I'm guessing there should be a fix, since it was working fine before the upgrade..

I am also having this problem with windows store. After opening the store it just falls back to desktop. The store still shows as a green icon in the left hand charms tile and if clicked it just falls back to desktop.
I have looked at the /tutorials/21051-apps-tiles-not-working-responding-fix-windows-8-a.html
the only thing that I see is I use a local account. but even after switching to Microsoft account I still get same scenario with the windows store.
Any idea that I have missed would be grateful.

I have same issue with Metro Store using my account(administrator). Store tries to open but disappears. All other live tiles & apps work fine. However I can create new account and have no trouble w/ store. I also cannot download the store app diag file.

I also had this very same problem. Spent a whole day going through every fix I could find to no avail. Since Microsoft in their wisdom has ditched an 8.1 ISO file how on earth can I refresh the system? Am I expected to go back to Win 8, start over and spend another 3 hours while it downloads and installs? will the next attempt be any different.?

Solved.
I got the Store working by creating a new user account and a new Microsoft account. Don't which one fixed it but it now works.
Only problem now is how to transfer settings.

I too have solved this by creating a new account. I created a new local account then choose to sign in to Microsoft apps and or store "individually using my Microsoft account".

I found this solution, which worked. Run the following in a Command Window to re-register the Store app:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml

Thank you for this fix, confirmed to work :)
