Pls I bought an HP probook 4540s with windows 8 64bit preinstalled then I removed it and installed window 7 32bit I now discovered that my driver didn't install so I clean install the window8 again now my Microsoft net framework 3.5 did not install I need help pls my softwares are not installing

MY experience with .Net 3.5 for Win8 is that you can NOT successfully install it from Windows features because the files stored on the drive are insufficient to do that.

What worked for me (and I found this from a Google search, so I don't take credit for it), was to do the .Net install from the Win8 DVD. That contains the other files needed and the install then completes successfully. Of course, if Win8 came preinstalled on your PC, or if you installed it from a download, then you might not have the install media needed.

net 3.5 DISM TOOL

I tried d DISM tool but it failed given me error 11 you cannot service a 64bit running window with 32bit DISM tool that I should get a version compatible with my system architecture hw can I correct that error

I downloaded the standalone dotnetfx35 I tried installing it but it was still requesting that I download and Install net framework 3.5 what should I do next.

You need to use a 64-bit ISO in order to use the dism utility to do the install.

    Retired in 2015 after working in the tech industry for 41 years. First 10 years as a Technician, the rest as a programmer/software engineer. After 1 year of retirement, I was bored so went back to work as a Robotic Process Automation Consultant. Retired for 3rd (and final) time in 2019.
I've noticed that when I install the Windows 7 DVD Download Tool, it also downloads and installs .NET 3.5. If you are really in a pinch you could give it a try.
