    Snippert Tool ?

I am finding the snippert tool is not working that great for me. What I need to be able to do is take a capture of an area when I right click and it shows the option dropdown menu for that item. Now as soon as I click on the snippert tool to activate a capture of the dropdown menu will fall away. I always used screen capture 6 for this on Win7 but this also does not work as the hotkey combination does not activate the capture when in this type of mode.

    Hi Dirtrider,

Try depressing the "print screen" key to capture the image (usually located top row, right side of keyboard). This will copy you captured image to the clipboard, and then open your favorite image editor (ie, paint, etc), and then simply invoke the paste function. Your menu image should be there and visible. Good luck.

I thought of this but that is a long way around when doing a technical document with loads of captures

Oh, a screen capture of documents. What kind of documents are you trying to capture (pdf, doc, etc)?

Boy! Do I have a great solution for you! First download the Free PDF XChange Viewer here:

    Tracker Software Products :: Product

Open up your PDF document, activate the snapshot tool, and "snip away!"

    Also see video here:

    Cheers and enjoy!

Thanks I will look at that but remember I am the one actually writing the technical instructions and only once done will I save it in PDF. So basically I am the one that needs to be capturing screens and snippets to inset into the document.

That should be easy to overcome if I understood your issue properly:

You are trying to capture images from a Word document; yes?
If so, convert that Word document to a PDF document "as is."
Now, use the PDF XChange Viewer to take snapshots of the specific images you want to use in your final document
Create your modified (or new) Word document and insert images as necessary
Convert the final Word document to your final PDF version

Did I misrepresent your intentions or did I get it right?

No I am trying to capture images from the screen of applications and how they work. So I would be doing a function with an application capture that part and write the notes to go with it

So lets say I am writing a document on updating a driver in a device. I need to be able to take a screen shot like this and then add it to my document and write a story on it. This was done in Win 7 using screen capture

    1. So I would have the help of this action here and the image below in my document like this.
