So, just discovering that with Windows 8 modern apps (Metro apps), when a new user logs into a machine for the first time, the default set of Windows 8 modern apps are installed (including the old version). Then, each person who subsequently logs in has to run the updates from the store to get onto the latest versions.
What is the Microsoft thinking here? We want to build a master image, update it (including any store apps), and then have it deployed in an updated state for all users.
But as we found out the hard way, you don't update store apps before you run sysprep or you are in not going to be able to even run sysprep to capture the image;

Then, on a machine that is used by multiple people, each has to update the store apps on a per user basis? Really??? Are Windows updates on a per user basis, no. Are service packs on a per user basis, nope. What the hell Microsoft.
