Check out KeePass Password Safe I just got it and getting ready to test it out.

Jim

Currently using KeePass. Been a KeePass user for years.

How do you like it? I have Norton IS and it has a toolbar that works great but the new version has the passwords in the Cloud and I don't like that. So I am looking at KeePass as an alternate.

Jim

It's pretty good. Although, I don't like how the app is not made by the KeePass team and that you need to plug in a USB every time to access your DB. (Dashlane uses Google Authenticator)

You're not restricted to only using USB keyfiles to access the DB. It uses a Composite Master Key, so you can use either just a password, just a keyfile or just a Windows User Account. Or you can use any combination of the three.

Composite Master Key - KeePass

If using just a password though, it's worth turning on 'Enter Master Key on Secure Desktop', which is turned off by default.

There's a brief description here:
Security - KeePass

When you open a database, it opens the Master Key dialogue box in a secure desktop environment (like the UAC prompt when you open something requiring admin privileges). By opening the dialogue box in an isolated environment (secure desktop), it helps to protect against software keylogging.

Personally I use 1password. Works great across all my devices (Surface Pro, iMac, Macbook Pro, android phones and Lumia 920). Database is synced to dropbox so it's always current.
