    Installing Programs To Another Drive

I just loaded Windows 8 to a 256GB SSD. Can I install my other programs, such as Office, on another Hard Drive so that I do not run out space on my SSD?

    Hello gbalonek,

If a program gives you the option to select where you want to install it during it's installation, then sure you could.

You can even permanently change the default "Program Files" location, but I don't like the idea.

While you might be able to "install" an app to another drive, understand, that registry entries for that app are still going to be written to your "C" drive. I'm not aware of any way to "migrate" the registry to another drive.

While this does put most of the burden of app disk space on the other drive, nonetheless, you are going to continue to utilize space on your "C" drive for new apps.

You can install your programs available on your internal SSD/HDD, but you can do it with external HDD.
