Cannot maintain window position for Word 2003

I am trying to adjust Word 2003 to my liking. In Win 7 I have it set to occupy half the screen. In Win 8 I can set the screen size but on restart it reverts to a quarter screen. I have tried everything I can think of but it keeps going back to quarter screen again.

    Any suggestions please.

    Thanks

In case anyone is interested in this problem I found a solution by using a program called Mosaico. Don't know if I am allowed to post links here so the program maker is SoulidStudio.

I found that once I had set the program position I could uninstall Mosaico and Windows continued to remember the position.

    Hope this helps someone.

I have Office 2003. My MS Word is set to open full screen. But, I can change it to a smaller screen and it will always stay there. I don't need a third party program to do it.

I should have said it was Office 2003. It is Excel that I was having problems with.

Same thing with any Office application, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, frontpage, etc.

However, Office 2003 is not officially supported in Win 8. It was flagged by Microsoft when I checked for compatibility when upgrading a system from Win 7 to Win 8.
