Apps problem

Some of my apps will load up, then randomly close . This happens with the weather, finance, sports, maps, travel, and news apps. I've tried everything, from sfc scan to refreshing my computer. The only antivirus I use is Windows Defender. And the only thing I have left is to reinstall windows. I can't do that though, because I have nothing to backup my files with. Is there anything I can do :(? Or should I tell Microsoft this so they can fix it in an update?

well, before you uninstall...

have you upgraded to the latest Catalyst driver suite to see if that solves the problem? It's all a matter of finding a driver revision that works. So for example, it might be the latest driver has a bug that's causing a problem so you have to revert to the previous version. Or it could be an old driver revision that has a bug and a newer one works. It all depends and you're going to have to do some trial and error.

for me, I upgraded to the latest catalyst driver suite but kept the original AMD/ATI driver that came with Windows 8. that fixed my problem.

so if you want to be systematic, you can start from the latest version and work your way backward. or start from the original driver and work your way forward. since you have a newer generation card, I would start with the latest driver and work backwards to toward revisions and see if that helps

this is the driver I'm using (yours of course will be different). I'm using the WDDM v1.1 driver:
