Copied my Outlook file to another computer but the rules i have all get in error on the second pc.

Since there are a few hundred of them and since i can only deleted one rule at a time....here is the question:

Is there a way to remove all the rules fast, maybe in the register?

The copied file with the rules comes from Outlook 2013, copied in Outlook 2010.

As a test i copied the PST file from another computer (Outlook 2007) in which there are no rules, but i cannot get rid of the rules in error.

Reinstalling Outlook 2010 can be nice, but no garantee that this solves the problem.

Strange....

thanks, if ever a solution pops up

Jeff

Doesn't it allow you to shift click on the first and last rules to select them all, then press delete?

Alternatively, you may be able to remove them using the /cleanclientrules switch (for non-exchange accounts). More info on switches at the following link:

Command-line switches for Outlook 2010 - Outlook - Office.com

I would recommend making a copy of the original PST and rules first and keeping them somewhere safe, so if need be you can make another copy from them.

hi A,

"Doesn't it allow you to shift click on the first and last rules to select them all, then press delete?"

no, but you gave me the solution: holding down the CTRL key and clicking every rule (click to select on the left) was a fast way. Then still holding DOWN the CTRL, then DELETE did the trick.

thanks
