    Run as Administrator

I use Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. I generally run them in Administrator Mode to have full control over file placement. I do this in Windows 7 by pinning them to the Start Menu; then, when I right click on the icon, I'm given the option to "Run As Administrator". But it only works if I pin to the Start Menu, not if I pin the apps to the Taskbar.

Does anybody know what will happen in Windows 8? Is there an alternate way to start an app and have Administrator privileges?

Hi Lyell, welcome to the Eight Forums.

Simply create a shortcut for an application you want to run as administrator, open the Properties of that shortcut and set it to run always as administrator.

A more elegant solution in this tutorial: Elevated Program Shortcut - Create for Standard User - Windows 7 Help Forums

Actually shortcuts for Photoshop & Illustrator were already created by the Installer and stored under:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Instead of clicking on to run as admin, click on open file location, right click on the shortcut->Properties->Compatibility then tick on Run this program as an Administrator. Next, Pin to taskbar.

This technique for Windows 7 is great, and is nicely simpler than I'm what I'm currently doing. Thank you both.
