The reason that I ask is, when I run the Registry Cleaner in Win 8, I get 318 errors. All Missing or Invalid Path-FriendlyAppName,ApplicationCompany. I didn't get this in Win 7. CCleaner Registry Cleaner doesn't pick these up.

Registry cleaners generally cause more problems than they solve and should be avoided. CCleaner is safer than most but I would avoid the registry cleaner.

The problem is that it is rarely possible to determine with 100% certainly that a specific registry entry is unneeded or in error. As a result, a registry cleaner must often guess. Most guesses are correct, but some are not. Even one wrong guess can have serious results. The value of registry cleaning is highly questionable and the risks are well known. Why take the chance?

Hi there
Reg cleaners etc aren't worth it.

Just Backup your system before installing software -- then if it doesn't work or you want to get rid of it just restore the image again.

Even better if you use a virtual machine --just delete it and start another one.

Cheers
