I don't know if anyone have heard about this but this one is one of the best solution for having a FREE wireless multimedia remote/mouse-keyboard for HTPC setup using an android smartphone or tablet. After some research, I have finally get the Wake-on-lan feature to work on my win 8 htpc using an android device as well. I don't have to get up to switch my pc on and off and I don't need a bulky keyboard to navigate around. The remote works thru the wifi network and very responsive. It also has a lot of windows compatible multimedia feature. Cheers!
