Kodak Photo software XP versus Windows 8

We are updating from an older Dell with XP, to a Dell desktop Inspiron 660 with windows 8. We have been using Kodak easy share software for editing/album management, on the old desktop which is no longer supported by Kodak. The xp version allows us to load from the camera directly to the Kodak software/albums. Windows 8, loads the pictures only to "my Pictures" in the documents file. Is there any way to avoid the 2 step process of moving photos from the document files to the Kodak software, and just go directly to the Kodak software/album.
