Windows 8 messaging app going offline all the time

Hi there,

Whenever I switch from the fairly great "messaging" app to my desktop to continue working, it seems that the app puts itself into sleep mode, and when I get back to the app, it gives me the info "retrieving data". Which suggests that is has to log in again to put itself to work again.

Is there a way that this app keeps running in the background all the time?

is your lock screen full? there's a limit on how many apps can run in the background and show info on the lock screen.

did you also try to snap the messaging app to the side of the screen (this requires a resolution of at least 1366x768)?

What do you mean with my "lock screen"? It has nothing to do with the lock screen, when I switch between the Messaging app and my desktop environment, where most of the time 4 programs are opened, the messaging app puts me on OFFLINE.
On the lock screen I only have the Messaging and Email used as notification icons.

I did use the pane on the right for some time (then it's staying online without a problem), but it's annoying when I use apps which require a big resolution... I just want to make sure that I'm online on facebook.
