What you may need to do is go into "Setting" and do a recovery. Not really sure what could be causing this problem. How long have you had Win 8 installed, and was it working prior to this problem.

By any chance did you turn off UAC ?
In addition, anti virus software is known to cause funny things happened including BSOD's. I've lost count of how many I've helped with BSOD's caused by Anti Virus. Turning off is different from exiting which the anti virus software is still running in the background except it stops monitoring in real time. You might want to temporarily uninstall Kapersky to see if the problem goes away.

as said above I lost count of the problems caused by Anti Virus software. The reason I mentioned about UAC being turned off because Metro Apps will not work but in your case it is the Kasperski stuff. Lots of people will not agree with me but I never believe in those Anti Virus craps, they seem to create more problems than helps. Virus and Malwares,Spywares are created everyday, every hour, every minute... and if the anti virus definition databases are not up to date then it will not help and they will sneak into your PC anyway. What I believe is a good image backup everytime I make some change to my PC so if I suspect something is wrong with my PC, all it takes is 7-8 minutes to restore and I am back in business instead of spending time trying to clean it up and not even sure if it's completely clean.

Windows Defender is sufficient enough to protect your PC and in addition, turn off Autorun then you should be OK.

How to turn off Autorun:

Win+X -> Run and type gpedit.msc

Administrative Templates >Windows Components > Autoplay Policies
, double click "Turn off Autoplay", Next is click Enabled, and then select All drives so that you can disable Autorun on all drives.

BTW, If you are happy with the result, Please mark it "Solved" so we can help others with same problem. Thanks

Cheers !!!
