Besides SkyDrive, improvment over Office 2010 @ 365?

And is 365 actually Office 2013?

Thanks!

Ok, I was impatient & installed 365. The problem is, I assumed Word & the rest would upgrade to 2013, but they are still 2010. I have a Skydrive account.

Any ideas?

What exactly did you do? Your posts are kind of vague. Office 365 is a subscription that gives you access to the latest versions of office. You went to office365.com and purchase a subscription? Then when you're logged in to that site you can install office onto your machine. The software downloads unpacks and you can start using it. It doesn't interfere with office 2010 so that won't be removed or upgraded but you should see office 2013 products in your start screen if it has completed the install.

So I should see Office 2010 & Office 2013? Perhaps the woman at Office.com gave me bad advice?

2010 Was already installed and she assured me this would upgrade to 2013???? I specifically told her I did not want 365, just a desktop version of 2013, like I currently have a desktop version of 2010 (with supposed free upgrade tp 2013)

Technically, it does upgrade you. Did you pay 99 for it? Office 365 is the subscription version.

No. I paid nothing. I have the University & Student version, which apparently ive you 4 hears to 365 for free. But unless 365 has some great features I just wanted the upgrade from 2010 Desktop to 2013 Deskktop as Newegg.com claimed it came with sine I bought it so soon before 2013 came out.

I would swear I spelt this out in no uncertain terms to customer service at office.com, but here I am, still with office 2010 after going 2 hours of supposed "upgrades"

There is no boxed version of office 365 university so you will get the four years.

This explains the upgraded - Buy Office today, get the next version free - Office.com

This is your 365 account page - it should show you your products and available install. click install and the 365 click2run will open and load up office 2013 home premium

IMO you're better off with the university sub than a box product. The box product will only be able to be activated once. no pc transfers, The university subs gives you the ability to install on 2 pcs, four years of service which is probably the same length you'd use the box product anyways, 20GB added to your skydrive, 60 minutes of skype minutes a month if you use that plus at the end of the 4 years you'll get the chance to extended it another four years.

My bad! I have so any apps on my Start / Metro screen, that when I still saw all 210 app installed, I assumed they were not replaced by 2013 without looking further. Reality is, when I did the update, it left 2010 AND installed 2013 separately with a separate icon, and I did not even notice the 2013 versions.

I feel like a chump, but one would think they would delete 2010 when replacing with 2013.

Alll is good.
