Music app that can play a playlist of m3u streams

    Hello

With windows media player, you can have a playlist of streaming radio stations. E.g. You can find say 5 stations on radionomy.com, download the m3u files, open them up in windows media player and create a playlist so that you can flick through them with the next/previous track buttons.

That's all fine, but is there anyway I can do this with a new windows 8 music app? The built-in app doesn't seem to be able to play streaming m3u files. Another app, 'Radyo' can play these files, but doesn't seem to be able to create a playlist of them so you have to manually flick through them yourself.

    Anybody any ideas?

with radyo, you can set a playlist. add the stations to your favorites. then hit next/previous to skip between stations.

you can still download your m3u files and run them with radyo. then once you add it to custom stations, you can then add it to favorites.

Ok, thanks very much! Yes I had stations added to favorites but it seems that isn't enough. Would I be correct in saying that anytime you open a new instance of Radyo, you actually need to open each favorite so that it is added to the playlist? You don't just open up Radyo, go to favorites and flick through them with next/previous?

maybe you can send a request to the developer? I sent a request for a feature to be added to the app Notepad Classic and the developer responded and added it within a week! it was the first time I ever heard of a developer responding individually to a request and actually getting it done quickly.

No problem, thanks. Yes I sent a message a couple of days ago asking how to do this. If they reply I will put it up here.

I see as well, the 'in-app' next/previous buttons (conjured up by a right click/flick top of screen down in 'Radyo') behavior is correct however the 'out-of-app' next/previous buttons (on keyboard or conjured up on screen from anywhere in desktop/metro by next/previous keys or volume keys) are behaving odd and incorrectly.

Anyway, sorry to be so pinikity! I have a very specific need (!), I want to use the lock screen on work computer but be able to control the music at the same time, the music specifically being streaming radio stations. Though, I should be glad you can even do this in windows 8 since, afaik, you couldn't control next/previous track from windows 7 lock screen. I must have been through every music app in store at this stage and 'Radyo' is the only one that recognises m3u files that contain radio stream addresses. The 'TuneIn Radio' and 'DI.FM' apps are great and sexy looking (!), it's just a pity they don't have some kind of playlist functionality.

    Anyway, thanks again!
