How to delete a contact from 'People'

Hi,
Although my main Laptop uses Windows 7, I have a second laptop which has Windows 8 installed and I am trying to find a way to delete a contact within the 'People' page.
The contact in question appears to be linked to Facebook. If I try to delete email contacts, there is an option to do this, within the toolbar, which appears at the bottom of the screen. However, going through the same steps to try to delete a Facebook contact, the option to 'Delete' does not appear within the toolbar - only 'Home, 'Pin to Start', 'Favorites', 'Link' and 'Edit'.
Can someone please advise me how I can remove unwanted Facebook contacts from the 'People' page?

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forums, I remove the contacts by going to People, Contacts and open the Charms bar, Settings, Options and un-tick the Facebook.

Thanks for your help - It is much appreciated :) However, the contact does not appear in my Facebook contacts list ! Could this be a 'Sync' problem?

I have come across another problem and if you have the time, I would appreciate your comments......

On the Windows 8 Laptop, when turned on - either from total power-down or Sleep mode, I always have to go through the 're-connection of my wireless link to my router' procedure, even though I have selected 'Connect Automatically' and the appropriate box is always ticked. I've had a look in the Control Panel to see if there are any further options but was unable to find any.........
The problem does not exist on any of my other PCs (which use Windows XP and Windows 7)

Could be a sync issue. Do you have any other account added to the People app that the contact could be from? Is it listed as a friend on Facebook?

I would recommend to go ahead and create a new thread for the separate wireless issue so that you will get the best help with it. :)

Hi Brink,

Thanks again for your time and trouble in replying to me.....

The only two accounts in the 'People' App. are Hotmail and Facebook. The contact in question does not appear in the list of contacts, when viewed in Facebook and is not in the friends list. I must admit that I'm not too sure how the 'Sync' system works.....

Thanks for your advice to post my other question as a separate issue - I'll do so after this post.

Odd. If the contact is not from your Hotmail or Facebook accounts, then you might uninstall People, install People ("Mail, Calendar, People, and Messaging" app) again, and open People to let it sync to see if the contact is still there.
