Stupid mistake, reversible?

Well, Deep scan finished on drive, nothing. not a trace of ANY of the files that used to reside in that folder. It's as if they never existed.

Try Paragon Rescue Disk and see if there's anything there to help you.

I'm actually considering giving up and chalk it up to experience, it's not like there was THAT much in that folder. I would almost like to class this as a bug in either NTFS or Windows 8 though as a fairly simple mistake have REALLY managed to nuke the files.
It's not like I haven't got other issues with the new OS to sort :P

Sad thing is (now that I've given up) that simply saying "No" to moving the files when moving the library (as I was just changing the path reference and not actually moving it) would have left them in place and still accessible from the new library. (tried it after backing up the files from the next library).
Also tried repeating my action but selecting to overwrite copies (that I previously told it to skip) and that failed to, it can't overwrite itself so only option to finish the move would be to select to skip duplicates.. which as we know nuked the files into the stone age.
