    No compatibility tab in properties.

A problem I have had since release day, there is no compatibility tab in properties from some .exe files. Right now I have to make a .exe file run as administrator but there is no compatibilities tab. Does someone know a fix for this? I have been searching for hours but noone seems to be bothered by the absence of a compatibilities tab. I have never seen the compatibilities tab missing in vista or windows 7.

I have done the "solve compatibility problems" when you right click the .exe and I have marked it needed special rights but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Hello Patrick, and welcome to Eight Forums.

What's the name of the .exe file, and what program is it for?

You might see if you may be able to using OPTION SIX in the tutorial below instead.

Run as Administrator - in Windows 8

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Hi, the program I am trying to run as admin is a game called Test Drive Unlimited 2. It has 2 .exe files, one is the launcher which does have a compatibility tab, and the other one is the actual game which is called TestDrive2.exe.

Option 6 doesn't work, the launcher can't start the shortcut. I am now looking at option 3, I assume this would be my best bet?

Does it have a shortcut that you can set to "Run as administrator" instead?

You might also give Option Seven a try to manually set it in regedit.

I have tried everything too. My game is Hoyle Card Games 2008, it worked fine the whole time we had xp then 7 then on to 8.1 It has been working fine till today and when I try to open it up I get a message saying it is not compatible with the system and that I need to have 95 or newer? I have uninstalled reinstalled uninstalled and reinstalled, tried running the compatibility trouble shooter, right clicked properties to find no compatibility tab. Sooooooo frustrating. Can anyone help with this?

Hello Nikkolle, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You might see if you may be able to use OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to set compatibility mode for the game to hopefully have it run properly again.
