    Gadget process killed

I have tried loading 8gadgetpack as well as desktopgadgetsn.exe and both look like they get installed properly (right mouse now shows gadgets). When I try and right click on the new gadgets link the taskmanager shows that it starts but then disapears. Any suggestions or ideas why this would happen?

    Thanks,
    TrScGa

    Gadget process killed

I looked in the event log and I see that there is an event error each time i try and launch gadgets with the right mouse click. It has the following information:

Faulting application name: sidebar.exe, version: 6.2.9200.16384, time stamp: 0x4ce7a1c7
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.2.9200.16420, time stamp: 0x505ab405
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x00000000000115d0
    Faulting process id: 0x19cc

    Any suggestions?

    I thought so.
From memory, the problem is caused by the very troublesome, and useless LVPrcSrv.exe.
I just disabled it by deleting the registry startup to stop it from running again.
If you wish to first test it, go into Task Manager and end the task to see if it fixes your problem.

I also deleted the file, but it isn't necessary as long as you stop it from running at startup by deleting the registry entry.

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\logishrd\LVMVFM\LVPrcSrv.exe

PS: If you don't wish to go into the registry, you can disable it running in msconfig.
Not my favourite way, but some people like to do it that way.

Thanks for the help. That did fix my problem and gadgets are now running. I now need to figure out which Logitech item to remove from msconfig or what to update in the registery ( not at comfortable with changing that).

I have already deleted the registry entry from my computer, so I can't tell you its location.
Just do a search for it in the registry and post the locations here and I will tell you which one to delete.

Other than that, use Task Manager > Startup (Tab): Rick click it and select "Disable".
