Odd problem when when browing apps from Metro Store

If I want to look at the details of an app that I am considering buying or a free app (any one of them), and I decide that the app is not for me, there is clearly a left facing arrow on the top left of the screen so I would assume it would take be right back to the store, and depart the app I was looking at.

Unfortunately, the back arrow does absolutely nothing. It does not take me back to the store..... does absolutely nothing. I am stuck at that app.

I am using Windows 8 basic.

Does anyone have idea why this happening?

Thanks for taking the time to read this odd problem.

Hello Motley,

Yes, clicking on the back arrow button until you are back on the Store home page should work for that as you thought.

See if right clicking on an empty area (or swipe down from top of screen), then click/tap on Home in the green bar at the top like below will take you back to the Store homepage.

Hope this helps, :)

Brink's solution is a decent workaround if it works.

But this is a problem that you should investigate if you can because it's not normal behavior. Does hitting the "Backspace" button take you back to the previous screen? It's the keyboard equivalent to clicking on the back button.
