Windows 8 calendar app

Calendar app has 'disappeared' ! Calendar app tile remains, but only leads back to the main start screen. Had lots posted in the calendar !!

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday, I try to open Calendar up via touch screen, the screen rotates, then rotates back to the Windows start screen. Same happens with my pictures. Tried opening using the apps component for both, that didn't work, either.
Any help would be appreciated.

Had the Amazon app do this once. Just rebooted the system to clean things up and it fixed the issue. Not saying it will work for you, but I'd give it a try.

Did a reboot, no luck. Maybe I'll try a hard reboot.

I too find this frustrating and refuse to use their little charms or whatever they are called. Now I am spending all this time putting my calendar back together.

If your logging into Windows 8 with a Microsoft account your calendar is saved to you account. You can log in to you MS account using your browser to verify. If so you can try to uninstall/re-install the Calendar application. When you launch it and log in with you MS account it will re-sync.
