Just to know what version of Office do you use.
Feel free to post why do you choose that version.:D

I chose 2013 because it matches with the style of Windows 8.

Office 2010 on this, 2007 on the W7 box, Office XP on the XP install, and Office 4.5 on W3.1 in DOS-Box.
Office 2000 is there somewhere, but isn't installed on anything ATM.
Wenda.

Hi there
Combination of Office 2007 (on an XP VM -- largely because I couldn't be bothered to update this to Office 2010 - although I probably will and Office 2010 (32 bit) on my main machines. I use Office 2010 32 bit because I have a load of EXCEL addins which amongst other things glean data from financial sites like the CBOE (Chicago Option exchange) for getting stock option call and put prices and loads of other things like that that don't work in either the 64 bit version of 2010 or at all in office 2013.

I hate the bland colours in office 2013 as well and to get it to start with the classical file open menu is a bit of a pain --if you don't mess around with it you get for example this nag screen in EXCEL 2013 (am running Office 2013 on a W8 virtual machine for testing as I might sometimes have to use this wretched update at work - Lync 2013 is our chat type server as we've now retired the XP application Netmeeting - which IMO is STILL better than all its replacements.

Office excel 2013 vs 2007 start screens (2010 is similar to 2007 - but I'm logged on to my own XP VM and W8 VM's remotely at the moment via a work machine where I don't have the 2010 version installed).

The 2007 in all ways IMO is much easier to read etc etc. The 2013 version is too hideously white whatever you do to try and customise it --very little customisations available too.

Cheers
jimbo

I am using 2010 Pro, downgraded from 2013 Pro. I liked 2013 basically, but OneNote kept interfering with printing. It kept directing me to do SkyThing suff. When it took me longer than 5 minutes to restore simple printing, I uninstalled it. I won't put up with something that is that hard to make a simple change on. And, 2013 had no business disrupting what I was doing to push unwanted things at me. If 2010 every becomes unusable, then I'll go to Open Office. But, I don't see why I can't use 2010 pretty much forever.

I was riunning Office 2013 Pro Plus on Win 8 until my system crashed last Saturday night, when I reverted back to my Win7 image and Office 2013 Pro Plus runs well and looks good on this OS also. I had to delete my user profile and then recreate it to use the PST file on the 2TB hard drive (OS and Office are on a 120GB SSD). I recreated the profile and Outlook now sees the data file just fine. The Office apps run fast and no errors, hang-ups or problems at all. Very smooth so far...
