Office 2010 Professional Plus SP1 (32-bit, for compatibility) on all my PCs....Win7 and Win8. I got it with my TechNet subscription back when Win7 came out, and it still works great. I see no new must-have features in the new 2013.

If O2003 wouldn't work on Win8 that would absolutely have been a deal breaker for me. Win8 is fine on this system but I'm always just a hair away from going back to Win7. There's just no advantage on the desktop for it but it lives on my machine because it's giving me no trouble.

failed on install. Came back and said. " this version of office cannot be installed on this version of Windows"
It was no buggy. I have 5 licenses for office 2010 so I just put that on

    this was office 2003 pro
you can try setting the installer to compatibility mode to windows 7
I tried that also, no biggy, as said i have 2010 on it
but i have 2003 on 5 other machines so if i get frustrated with 2010 i just go onto those

I beta tested 2013 and I do not like it at all and you are correct I really did not see a major difference between the two

    Basically 2013 is a flattened 2010.

    Robin,

Hmm ... odd. Though this system was an upgrade with O2003 on it already I installed it on several versions of Win8 during the Release Preview process and it never had any problem. I'm using O2003 Professional.

It might have just been a quirk, if I get another windows 8 machine, I might just try it again

Hi there judging by the latest advertising for Office 365 (subscription model - up to 5 PC's) and the restriction of Office 2013 being fixed to the ORIGINAL computer (i.e you can't move it when getting a new computer) I'd suspect that future Office products will now be only subscription models. ...
