Solved Installing Adobe Reader

I refreshed my computer (it has a Windows 8 OS) and lost all my apps. When I tried to re-install Adobe Reader I kept getting a message that said, "Error 1500 Another installation is in progress." This was not true. I got rid of all the downloads and restarted my computer, but I got the same message.

Any advice?

Try this download--

Download Adobe Reader 11.0 - FileHippo.com

Turn off antivirus before installing.
It might help.

Just quick post to advise that I was experiencing exactly the same problem as the OP after a PC Refresh. I run SFC /SCANNOW which did NOT identify and integrity problems. However after a restart Adobe XI installed ok. so many thanks for the help.
