    Pokki

Folks, I'm reading about Pokki for the first time, which has about half a million free downloads. Does it take over your GUI? The screen shots seem to indicate that it does.

Good grief, Pokki claims half a million downloads. Does ANYBODY here use Pokki?

I downloaded it, install it and then delete it. Now I'm using ClassicShell.

Thank you, Miauu. At least I know that I can get rid of it. But did it take over your desktop or did you have options about what to do?

Okay, I installed it. No big deal. It let me choose not to use its Start Button (I am using Classic Shell). It placed itself on my task bar, and any ap I install is automatically placed on my task bar without my permission, but they're easy to remove. But I do like the way it tells you what percentage of users liked various aps, so I'll keep it.

I am trying out various start menu options. Right now I have Pokki. Its ok, and runs fine for me. It doesn't take over anything, just adds the start button/menu. Can be removed. It has its own "apps" as well. will it take off, who knows. For now I like it...

Slurp, I consider it useful enough to keep, but it's no big deal. And you are correct: it doesn't seize control of your computer.

Stumbled across this app. Useful Start menu.
With Pokki installed, when win 8 boots up it now goes to the Desktop. Which is great. However, it also opens my USER folder and displays in on the desktop. I would rather that it did not. I have looked at Pokki's settings but can't see anything there to stop opening my USER folder. Does...
