iPhone Gmail Windows 8

Hello, Pendlebury. Welcome to EightForums.

I use Windows Mail without any problems. I have two Live email accounts and one Gmail account configured. One cannot use pop3 accounts.

I find the live tile helpful as to see new emails I receive upon logging into 8.

Cheers. That worked well and much easier than adding in outlook. I guess I thought I could only add Microsoft email accounts. Now all is synced.

Any suggestions for contact syncing?

Go to your Microsoft account preferences and add Google as a connected account. It pulls your contacts and updates them whenever you update in Gmail. And all this shows up in the People app too. Works like a charm for me.
