Not Working - Immersive (Metro) Control Panel

    Hello there.

After some weeks of usage, I've noticed the Control Panel App ("PC Settings") dissapeared from the Start Screen.
If I search for it it's found but it doesn't work after clicking on it.
There is a shortcut in ProgramData on c-drive but it's not working (the same as found on Start Screen I assume).

My guess is that CCleaner removed some entries/shortcuts that were noted as unneeded.

After a sfc /scannow I get reported that errors were found but couldn't be repaired...

Next time I run CCleaner or any other cleaners I'll reconsider it.

Anyone has the same issue or a fix?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Hopachi,

You could do a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before this happened.

If that's not an available option, then could refresh Windows 8 to fix it.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the fast reply Shawn.

I somehow knew this day was coming... I got tons of files on my Desktop, still working on some projects...

Yes there are a couple of important updates I'll have to reinstall + all newer non-MS drivers.
For the moment I'm not gonna do the refresh yet. It's seems like a minor Issue (one icon) but maybe I'm wrong.
If ohter icons get missing as well (who knows) then I'll definitely do a refresh!

What I also want to add is that after applying the Browser's Choice App (Europe stuff) the Metro IE browser disappeared from all places. I thought this is related to the other issue but some people say that disabling and re-enabling IE from features will restore it's APP back.

As I said in the related thread, I'll re-think my CCleaner usage in the future.

    Again, thanks for the post.

Merry Christmas and happy New Year!

Are you able to open PC settings using the method below?

"PC settings" Screen - Open in Windows 8

For Metro IE10, do you have Internet Explorer set as the default program?

    Thank you!

    Yes it works from there.
By the way, I also refreshed the pc and some "overcleaned" items are restored.

    I'll be more careful.

    All goes well!
