Metro app history blank?

After a few weeks of using Windows 8, I noticed that my app history (in Task Manager) is completely blank. This happened on two different machines, a desktop and a laptop, both clean installs. I also noticed the same behavior while testing Win8 DP, CP and RP. Anybody else have this issue?

Clearing the usage history doesn't rectify the problem.

Hello NaySayer,

"App history" will only show the history of Store apps, and not desktop apps.

Clicking on "Delete usage history" is what would clear this.

Do you have a 3rd party program like CCleaner installed that you use? If so, it will also clear app history.

As you can see, it's not showing anything at all, and I have maybe 40 or 50 Metro apps installed. Clearing the app history should just zero-out the various memory/bandwidth/etc. usage data, not result in a blank window with no apps showing.

Yeah, that's kind of the nuclear option, and I don't want to do anything quite that drastic. I was hoping for a simpler solution, like the way you can reset a machine's reliability history.

I can't imagine other people haven't had the same problem, as I've seen this behavior now on several different PCs, all with different software installed, in every version of Windows 8 from DP onward.
