Hi everyone. I'm running windows 8 on a Toshiba WT200 windows tablet. I have upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8, and everything is working just fine except for the metro apps. Whenever I tried to open one of them, the loading screen for it show up for a couple of seconds, and then the screen goes black, and I get an error message that tells me my computer has to restart.

Other than that, windows 8 works fine. Just wondering if anyone knows a solution to this problem, please and thank you :)

Hi Gwei, welcome to the forums, try changing the resolution to a lower value, reboot and change back to the normal resolution and see whether it fixes the problem.
If that doesn't help, switch off UAC (User Account Control) and reboot switch on UAC.

I cannot seem to run sfc /SCANNOW. It just gives me the following message "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service".

Sorry, this is beyond my technical ability. If someone doesn't answer to this then I suggest you post your problem in the sfc /scannow tutorial thread.

Hi, I had similar problem try install and run this. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=271185 .

Some other possible causes for this problem:

1. Your screen resolution is below 1024 x 768
2. Your video driver is not updated
3. UAC is disabled
4. You are logged into the Built-In Administrator account

Good luck.
