Solved Configuring the News tiles

Just got my new computer, so there is no need to explain the levels of frustrations and lost productivity I am going though....but I am trying to see the bright side, and make the best of it. Almost back in business now and I am exploring some of the net new stuff.

One of the tiles on the new Start page is NEWS. How do I configure the content? For a fleeting moment, I pressed something by mistake and saw options like My News and Source.... but I cant seem to get them back.. Would really like to be able to configure it.

Hello Mediaman, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The default News app that comes with Windows 8 is for Bing. It only shows Bing Daily news updates on it's live tile.

You could right click or swipe down from the top in the Bing "News" app, then select what you want to see while in the News app. That will not change what is seen on the live tile though.




You could download and install a different news type app in the Store for whatever provider you want though. The tutorial below can show you how to search for "News" or whatever news source (ex: CNN) you wanted in the Store to help find it or a wide selection of news apps.

Mediaman09, I would also recommend that you install Classic Shell to get you over the "learning curve". That's what I've done and it has helped!
