Win 8 store app (the app itself) is crashing on startup

    Win 8 store app (the app itself) is crashing on startup


    This happens:

    It crashes/closes as soon as it starts up. This only happens for one account. I'm sure I could fix it by removing and re-adding the account, but I'd prefer not to.

    Hell Matt, and welcome to Eight Forums.

    Do you have a 3rd party AV or firewall program installed? If so, uninstalling/reinstalling it may help.

    If not, then you might see if refreshing Windows 8 may help.

    Well, I could just remove and reinstall the user account instead of doing a refresh/reinstall. I'm just wondering what could be causing this behavior.

    Do you have a 3rd party AV or firewall program installed?

    Did you upgrade to Windows 8, or clean install to it?

    Upgraded to Win8 from Win7.

    Not sure if removing/adding the user account will work or not, but Refresh usually does.

    Yes, I can fix it by creating a new account for the user, but I'd prefer not to and I would like to know the root of the problem. Any idea what could be causing this? Is there a way to reset the metro settings for a user somehow? Where are these settings even stored?

    I wish that was known and was something as easy as that.

    So far, the only known fix for this is a refresh, reset, and I suppose create a new user account to use instead.
