Go into Control Panel > Region > and see what Country is set under the Location tab. It may filter based on where you are, or where it "thinks" you are. It may also filter based on whether your running 8, 8 Pro, or RT.

Are you running the final release version of Windows 8. I know when I was running the CP I didn't see near the amount of apps you get on the RTM.

That's one of the little gotcha's that annoys me. If you select "English US" for your keyboard language it's assumed you are in the United States. So I have to go drill down and switch it to Canada. If you select "English Canada" you end up with a couple of French letters on your keyboard even though you didn't select "French Canada".

You might see if only changing your GeoID location instead may help with this part.

Hope this helps, :)

Brink, that's what I am doing. I leave the language etc, at the default English US during the install. Then I go into control panel and switch the region to Canada. One of these days I'm going to site down and figure out how to make an autoanswer file for an unattended install.

Not to worry, I've done the same thing. You read something in a post, the light bulb comes on, hay I know the answer to that. Then you make a reply without reading though the whole thread. Happens quite a bit I think. For me, it's usually because I take so long typing my post. The region defaulting to United States isn't a big deal to me, more of a pet peeve.
