Hi guys, having some issues on WMP12 since i clean installed Windows 8.

The main issue im seeing is that playcounts wont save properly when i play a track, once i play a song it registers the play but then if i close WMP and re-open my playcounts are missing. I've re imported my entire libary and it still does it, and it never did it on Win7.

A few other issues are that songs will sometime delete themselves from the libary and i have to re add them, some tags changes wont save correctly (could be M4A related though)

Anyone with any ideas?

Cheers

Hi. I have found WMP12 in Windows 8 to have some serious problems. Ripping a music CD takes about 30-45 minutes per song. The network sharing of WMP does not show up on the home network. I believe that WMP also crashes outlook 2007. Outlook locks up when doing a send and receive. I don't think it did until WMP was activated.

Cheers

Dave

I'm not having any of the issues you describe with the same configuration. For example, I ripped a CD and it was finished so quickly I thought it had crashed -- but the music files were there where they were supposed to be. I've done the network sharing too, and my Outlook is stable with WMP open and active. Just my experience...

Now that you mention it, I also have some issues with WMP:
- sound stuttering every second, and I don't even use playlists, I use M4A since Win7 but there all was alright.

So I ditched the WMP in Win8 to use... the Music App, no more stuttering... but then, after a while (update I guess) it didn't wanted to play files on double-click anymore.
It's like programs go on strike these days!

I was a big fan of WMP and Music but now I have to rely to MPC - HomeCinema and VLC to take over. At least they work.

And I didn't found any fix yet to either WMP 12 or Music.
