Today I uninstall my Office 2013 Preview, to install the Retail Office 2013 ,,,,,,, MS now remove us the possibility to simply pin the apps like Word to the task bar, YES from the preview to the retail some very bright guy at MS thing peoples will not need to pin it to the taskbar...... What an epic fail.....ok I have to go now find a way to create a shortcut browsing the office folders

so COKE don't expect MS to listen an improve things on the service pack, they really want make their customer feel the pain.

but they change the icon , they return to non square monolith icon

new Office 2013 icon

Not sure what's up with that, but you should be able to easily pin their .exe files to the taskbar.

Why not do what I did and download one of the desktop start menus for Win 8? Then you can run things from the desktop without having to go to the Win 8 start screen to change programs. I've stopped using the start screen completely. My computer looks just like Windows 7.

Because I refuse to use a third apps to do what Microsoft would have design first. I like to run my PCs clean of third apps and cheap free apps we found on the web.

I use the Office 2013 pro plus from Technet , but i guess any version will behave the same. The review from technet give the option to pins the apps to the task bar when you click on the tile in the start page, why they remove it from the retail version is out of what I can understand , I make a huge effort to enjoy Windows 8 , but MS don't help at all

I haven't tested this yet, but did you uninstall the preview before installing the retail in case there may have been some issue with over installing?

Downloading now and will be installing soon.

Yes I uninstall the preview before and reboot, I even make an Install on my 8 pro in VM, and no preview was install before. Someone at MS really dislike the desktop.

One think I dislike from Office 2013, is that you have to open a document, can be a blank new one, to have access to the files menu, their probably an option to go directly to a new blank documents right away, I have not check it yet. I have enough to do with learning server 2012 essential as for now, lol

I uninstalled the Preview and installed the RTM this morning, and everything seems normal to me. I am able to pin the applications to the taskbar and browse for files without opening a document first.

as I said I make 2 installs and they are no way to pins the application from the Metro Start Page .... I never mention I was not able to pin it, I mention you can't pin it from the Start Page , this is a huge difference

this pic was taken on my PC , so I was able to pin it ,but only after browse to the .exe in the office15 folder

this is the proof it's not there , look publisher is check mark

office1.jpg

and this the proof I own a full retail version, you have my first name, and the ROG logo at the side,

office-2.jpg

and when I said I can't access the file menu it's this one, not a files in folder, with Office 2010 you can access the files menu right aways as it open a blank document, this is something I will work on when I have time

don't try to make me look like a foul this time I have fact to support it

anyway Brink will come back with his own, non Bias conclusions, I'm sure of it

If it's not available from the Start Screen then why not pin it to the task bar FROM the task bar after you launch it:

1.jpg

As for the file menu you said " that you have to open a document, can be a blank new one, to have access to the files menu" which is not true...you can access the file menu easily without opening any document, click "Open Other Documents" and you get the File Menu.

It seems you're working so hard to find anything against Microsoft to jab at that you're missing the obvious.

R0Br what is your problem ? is your English worst than mine ? I start a nice tread an until you come here everything was running well, your last post as nothing to do with my post. nothing as nothing, you are just trolling the tread.

You are craping a nice tread with stuff not related to it.

First let me clear, this is my first post

Today I uninstall my Office 2013 Preview, to install the Retail Office 2013 ,,,,,,, MS now remove us the possibility to simply pin the apps like Word to the task bar,

this is what the tread is all about, . MS remove the posibillty to pin Office Apps from the Start Page. I don't want a trick to turn around ; I just mention the fact that MS remove some option present in the Preview

Ans what is that opening of files.....for the third time, I doN,t have problem to open a doccuments, it's the FILE menu on Word that you don't have acces until you open a documents, not the Files Explorer, do you read my post, I even make a screens with a red circle

Funny Brinks understand it right away , and I'm gone ask him to stop to crap my tread with non relevant crap.

Epic fail, I made a nice tread today about the ISO mounting , where I say thanks to Microsoft

I know, you made that clear, I just showed you a way to do it without having to go to the OFFICE15 folder to pin to the task bar like you said you did.

I also can pin Word 2013 to the desktop taskbar from the Start page. When I right click on Word 2013 on the Start page, the options at the bottom of the screen (as shown by Brink in his message) includes the ability to pin to the desktop taskbar. And this works in my testing.
