    displaying split-screen "metro" apps equally

I know how to display two metro apps in a 85/15 (approx.) split screen but is there any way to give each app equal screen space (i.e. 50/50 split)? I can't seem to find a definitive answer for this.

This can't be done. I think this decision was really stupid, as you can only really use the 1/3 2/3 split with VERY few apps. Music, Weather, and news apps (reading through top headlines, not viewing articles) can be used well for that.

Yeah, this lack of flexibility is a key reason that I find Windows 8 to be meh at best. It's a half cooked concept, and hopefully one that they can improve upon significantly with the next version of Windows.

I don't get why this is shocking, this is just my opinion about it. Like I said, you can only really use the 1/3 2/3 split with VERY few apps. Music, Weather, and news apps (reading through top headlines, not viewing articles) can be used well for that. That wasn't the best decision that was made as again, VERY few apps can take good advantage of that. Maybe if you're playing a Windows Store game, and you move it over to the side and do something on the Desktop like a torrent client, you can slide the game back with the Desktop on the side with thumbnail previews.

Because you are so enamored with everything Windows related, I would have expected you to tell us that we simply needed to use our computers differently and embrace the change.

I don't really see how using the app snap like that is totally the best solution. You can't even use IE 10 immersive with the 1/3 snap unless maybe on a tablet as the form factor seems more appropriate, but I don't use it like that so much with my desktop.
