Xbox Music App with music on 2nd drive

A and B WERE special letters, but in Vista (or 7) they were free to use. Special legacy apps would have issues when you used them, but this drive was A for 3-4 years in 7 and it worked just fine.

Seems to be working now, after I rebooted and did a rebuild of the indexes, it's populating.

Good to know - I still tell folks it's special cased because it saves the trouble of finding out they DO have some random old app that breaks down using it. It still happens, unfortunately.

You can always try adding the second drive's contents as junction points to folders on your primary drive inside your library. This is how we get around issues with tablets and SD cards, for instance:

I'm running into exactly the same problem as the fellow who started this thread. I have all of my music on an external drive, and the Music App isn't finding any of it. All of my libraries are set up properly (I know this because the Zune app I installed and Windows Media Player are both finding all of my music just fine). I have tried creating both Junction points and symlinks from my c:\Users\Robert\Music directory to the place where my files are, with no luck. The Music App keeps putting up a message to the effect of "It looks like a lot of your music isn't showing up right" at the top, but when I click on it for more help, it just takes me to the same old instructions for how to set up my libraries, so that's no help whatsoever.
The music is on my I: drive, by the way, so there's no problem with magic drive letters.
    Anyone have any ideas?
