Peripheral drivers problem

OK...got Win 8 successfully installed but, like a lot of folks, I've got more than one problem. This is just one:

I own a Minolta 35mm dedicated slide scanner. It was an expensive piece of gear. The drivers do not work with Win 8 pro. They DID work just fine with Windows 7 64 bit but not now. I get a message something to the effect......not digitally signed drivers. Konica/Minolta discontinued consumer photographic products a couple of years ago and so there is no way to obtain updated drivers.

Is there a work around for me or am I just totally out of luck?

I have some older software that I have been successful making work by changing the compatibility setting for software. But I know of no place where there is a place that I can do this for drivers.

Any help? Please?

P.S. Sorry.....I just discovered that I've posted this in the wrong place. I can't find a way to delete it and/or move it so could a moderator please do that for me? It would be appreciated.

Take a look at VueScan. I've used it to get just about every scanner working when the manufacturers don't provide Win7 drivers for older equipment. The latest version is Win8 compliant, they claim. Download the trial and see. Not free but well worth the money, I use it in preference to manufacturers own drivers.
