    Metro App's crash on start up


    Hi,

    I'm new to this forum.

    I installed Windows 8 on my desktop (previously running Windows 7) a few days ago.

    I would say 90% of my app's from the store (and the standard ones) start to 'boot up' then crash.

    For example my Netflix gets to the main screen, then shuts down, even the Mail icon does the same, as does the Google one.

    Skype works fine though!

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of the problem apps, but that hasn't helped. Even Microsoft have logged in, tried, and not got anywhere.

    Everything works fine from the old standard desktop, it's just the Metro page.

    Hello,

    Did you happen to update your apps? If not, go to store and see upper right of your screen there's an update click it and update all the apps on the list. hope it'll help..

    Hello Shane, and welcome to Eight Forums.

    If you have any 3rd party security programs (AV/firewall) installed, then see if uninstalling/reinstalling them completely or updating them to the latest versions may help. There's many many reports that these are causing issues like this when they were installed when you upgraded to Windows 8.

    If that doesn't help, then refreshing Windows 8 usually solves the problem.
